here’s another view you can see that the drops would come off the optical rain sensor and still drip into the bucket.

150826 LML
First sample in August!! About 10 mL. System ran on timer last night between 1 am and 8 am. Setting up with optical sensor mounted to the drip tray of the passive collector.
150817 LML
Set up LML active sampler today. Fog has returned after heat wave. Missed fog event at LML last night, but fog was not seen at UCSC. Confined to immediate coastline.
BML 150813
Collected 175 ml of sample. Sample was clear. Blank sample of 200 ml. Aliqout of 10ml taken for ion analysis. Sample collected at 1100.

Collected 180 ml of sample. Sample was clear. Blank sample of 150ml. Aliqout of 10ml taken for ion analysis. Sample collected at 1230.
150809 UCSC
Collected a meager 3 mL of fog water sample. Consistent clouds every night but not much at ground level. System cleaned and blank taken.

Soaked all active components of fog collector in 10% acid bath for 3 hours and rinsed thoroughly with DI

Rain and thunderstorms last night but very little sample collected (< 3 mL) and not kept. Collector cleaned per standard protocol

Collected a sample 07/31/2015. Collector came on Thursday evening and ran until late morning Friday. Collected a full jar. Very dirty. Probably due to smoke/fire particulate. Ash on top of the collector. It will be like this for many weeks due to fires in Lake and Trinity counties.
